Words that arrive in the consulting room
It is not always easy to name what you feel. Sometimes it starts like this.
I should feel happy… but I don’t.
Everyone tells me it’s normal, but I don’t feel okay.
I feel like I’ve changed, and I’m not sure who I am any more.
I want to be less hard on myself, but I don’t know how.
The birth didn’t go the way I expected, and I can’t stop going over it.
I feel grateful and overwhelmed at the same time.
I don’t know where I fit any more.
I feel like I have to be the strong one, but inside I’m overwhelmed.
I want to help, but I don’t know how to do it right.
I miss how we were before, and I feel guilty for thinking it.
Everything revolves around the baby, and I feel left out.
I didn’t expect this to stir up so much in me.

Real experiences
Shared with care and confidentiality.
I first turned to Laura when, struggling to get pregnant, I started IVF. Since then, she has been with me through very hard times: a difficult birth, the fear and uncertainty around the health condition my baby was born with, and all the emotions that came with it. Her way of being there — so warm, respectful and deeply human — was what kept me grounded through the fear and the pain. Today, with everything finally calm, all I feel is enormous gratitude for having had her by my side. She is an outstanding professional.
I’m a mother of three girls at very demanding ages, and I came to Laura at a time of great change for our family. We were moving to another country, and each of us was going through our own internal grief while trying to adapt to a new reality. In that process, Laura’s help was essential in getting us reorganised and through that stage with more clarity and calm. Her warmth and non-judgemental listening make you feel understood from the very first moment — as if you were talking to a friend, but with the guidance and professionalism you truly need.
Becoming a father was something I had longed for deeply, and yet it turned out to be challenging in ways I hadn’t expected. Thanks to Laura’s support in therapy, I was able to navigate this stage with much greater clarity and confidence. She helped me understand my emotions better, connect more deeply with my wife, and find my place in this new role. I managed to be more present, to be a real support, and to experience the start of this chapter in a more conscious and connected way. I’m deeply grateful for her guidance and support at such an important moment in our lives.
After my first C-section, just the thought of going through birth again made me deeply anxious. The fear was intense — I felt even less prepared than I had the first time. I decided to prepare with Laura, and it changed everything. I was able to understand what I had experienced, give it the importance it deserved, work through the anxiety, and learn tools to manage it. Her knowledge, her empathy and her support have been essential. Today I still have a healthy respect for birth, but it no longer paralyses me. I feel calmer, more confident and emotionally ready. Preparing myself has been the best gift in this new pregnancy. I’ll always be grateful to have had her support.
